Buying property in North Cyprus

I am thinking of buying a property in North Cyprus because the prices are so much lower than in the south, but I am a little bit worried about the title deeds issue. I have heard that buying Pre-74 Turkish Title is completely safe, but now I hear of people not getting their deeds. Has anybody experienced this or is it just a rumor? Any advice would be appreciated, as I don't want to do something I'll regret....
