Buying in Bulgaria

I am thinking about buying a property in Bulgaria but I want to make sure that it is a good investment as well as a place to use for holidays. Any advice would be appriciated.

Buying in Bulgaria

If you are looking to buy now, remember that the bottom has fallen out at the moment and so do not accept the price stated.
I personally believe that Bulgaria is a very good investment is you choose carefully and plan medium term. If it's for holidays, are we talking sun or snow? Both locations will have good deals.
Also think about rental income from the property. Bulgaria is a cheap desitnation for a holiday and in this market, thats good.
Locations -
Golf locations are lucrative, its cheaper to play golf here and the Golf courses have tied in property developments.
Sun - Sunny Beach is cheap and popular but up North of Varna is nice, not a fan of Bourgas but again it has potential. Both Varna and Bourgas has airports which is very important.
Snow - Bansko had problems with infrastructure but they have cleverly marketed Snow for the winter and Golf in the Summer,so I still have a good feeling, but again you need to negociate on the price. There wil be distressed sales on all locations which offers good deals.

The other choices are city and rural, city is rental to the local market and rural offers older properies in idilic locations. Even if the locals try for a high price, go in low, I have offered 1/2 the price and got a yes before.

Bulgaria

Bulgaria is the same as everywhere at thye moment. We have just bought a property inland for a knockdown price. If you have the cash I would say now is the time to buy but don't believe the price that they are asking, our house was on at 75,000 Euros and we eventually got it for 30,000 Euros.
